This is another very nice town park. This one has athletic fields, picnic areas, places for barbecues, and the town pool. There is also a stone dust walking trail, and a short trail in the woods. The trail in the woods led out to an area that kids are using to party, complete with empty alcohol containers and a fire pit.

This was pretty much a non-starter. The snow wasn't cleared at all, and I didn't want to trudge through with the dogs. We started at the trail head in Plainville that serves as the start of the 2nd section of the trail and quickly crossed into Farmington. The pictures below are from the area at the start of the trail, and the 2nd one is at the Plainville/Farmington town line. We turned around not long after entering Farmington, and decided to go elsewhere. We came back a second time, and made it further into Farmington, but wound up turning around about a half mile after the bridge over Route 6 because of an approaching thunder storm.

In an effort to visit towns we haven't gone to that much, I found this town park in Plainville simply by looking at Google Maps. I expected a typical town park with playgrounds and athletic fields, but I didn't expect the nice pond with a trail that goes around three quarters of it. It's used mainly for fishing, but there are definitely places where the dogs could cool off in the summer time.
