We tried to come here earlier this year, but there is very limited parking and I could not find a spot. This visit was on a gloomy, cooler day, and there were a couple of spots open. This is a very popular spot. The river features a number of cascades, as opposed to larger water falls. There is a "trail" that runs alongside the river for about a mile. I put "trail" in quotes because it's not really marked, and there are a number different routes you can go. Some are more rocky and rooty than others. Despite sings saying things like "No Picnicking," there were in fact multiple groups of people doing just that. I saw one group of teen-agers eating a pizza, and a whole family set themselves up on one of the large rocks that jet into the river. Unfortunately, there was also a lot of garbage left here, which kind of diminished the spot's appeal to me.

This is a town park that featured some open space and a paved jogging trail. Joshua's Land Trust land borders this park.

This is the Joshua's Land Trust Land that borders Edward Garrison Park. There is a small hill to climb before reaching a short loop in a lovely meadow.

I actually tried to go to a place called "Diana's Pool", but the lot was completely full. In fact, some cars had parked in a manner that they had blocked other cars. Since it didn't look like I'd get to Diana's Pool, I tried this "Two Sisters Preserve Trail" that I had passed on the way. That was a mistake. This is one of the worst trails we've hiked. It was completely overgrown in places. Not only that, they have been cutting trees down due to some gypsy moth damage. I know it doesn't look that bad in the two pictures below, but trust me, it is that bad! This was the first time a Joshua's Trust trail had let me down. Not recommended!

Our first visit here was when we visited the Two Sisters Preserve, as that trail crosses the Air-Line Trail in Chaplin. As you can see, the dogs decided to use the trail as a place to rest. We came back twice in the winter, and finished the Chaplin portion of the trail.

This was a loop trail around Black Spruce Pond. The trail was mostly flat, but a bit rocky in places. It wasn't all that interesting. The pond itself didn't look that great, and it was a pretty dreary afternoon as well. Some of the trail veered into the neighboring town of Hampton. The pictures below are from the Chaplin section.
