This is a nice nature preserve that features two short mowed loop trails that go around a beautiful meadow. Despite it only being 72 degrees, Mandy decided she was hot and rolled around in the one spot that had wet grass to cool off. I cleaned her off with some of our drinking water. This is the reason for the right side of her face looking messy in the last two pictures.

Hop Brook Lake Recreation Area is a park situated on the corner of Middlebury, Waterbury and Naugatuck. This photo was taken just past the Hop Brook Dam. The park has picnic areas, hiking trails and a beach for swimming.

After doing some crazy trails the last few times out, I was looking for an easier trail this time around. These multi-use trails are usually pretty easy. We walked from the start of the Trail in Naugatuck to Wooster Street in Middlebury. Of course, I didn't realize that this would be a gradual uphill climb the entire length in Naugatuck. It reminded me of the Hop River Trail in Vernon which also features a gradual uphill climb the whole way. We covered the first 2.8 miles of the trail, before going downhill on the way back.
