I never realized that Milford was this nice. This is actually the entire area around Fowler & Wilcox Parks. Fowler Park is the area with the playground and athletic fields, and Wilcox park is the small wooded area with trails behind Fowler Park. While these are both great, the best part of the walk was the area with the marina next to the parks. There are many photo opportunities here. There are a number of sidewalks, bridges, fountains, waterfalls, and boating docks here. They all make great backdrops for photos.

This is the pedestrian walkway over the Sikorsky bridge that connects Stratford to Milford and the Merritt Parkway with the Wilbur Cross Parkway. There is a paved walking trail on the Stratford side that leads up to the bridge that goes near the river and offers some views. The picture below was taken on the Milford side, and it captured a blowing leaf in mid-air.

This trail reminds me of the Laurel Marsh Trail Stone Dust Loop in Manchester. They are both short stone dust surfaced loop trails near highways. This trail features a wonderful long boardwalk through the marsh.

This one is not quite as nice as the Beaver Brook Nature Trail. The loop around the far pond is overgrown, and there are a lot of prickery branhces too close to the trail. The trail loops behind the Subway National Headquarters. There are no pictures of the Subway building, as there was a security type person eyeing us. I guess he wanted to be sure I didn't take any pictures of their secret sandwiches and sell them to Blimpie's or something.

This was a walk through the Borough of Woodmont, located in the town of Milford. We parked at Trubee Doolittle park and basically walked along the sidewalks that run along side the shoreline. Dogs are not allowed on the beaches in Woodmont, so we basically stayed off the sand (for the most part). It's a nice walk, with scenic views of Long Island Sound. I especially liked the rocky area known as Anchor Beach. Our walk also included the rocky area near Burwells Beach, just south of the borough, and Oyster River Beach, right along the West Haven border on the north end of the borough. It was cloudy at the start, but the sun came out more toward the end of our adventure, and with the mild temperatures (low 50's), it made for a very enjoyable walk.

We were walking through the Borough of Woodmont, where we took a pedestrian walkway that led to this beach, most of which is outside the borough. I don't think dogs are allowed here either, but I didn't see a sign at the pedestrian walkway. We walked to the rocky area, just south of the beach and took some photos, before returning to the street via a right of way near the American Legion, where we headed back to Woodmont.
