This was Mandy and Lexi's first trip to the beach. Mandy made the funniest face when she tasted the ocean for the first time. They both couldn't figure out why the water moved so much! We've been to many beaches since. They love it! We came back here a second time for more fun on the beach!

This park is connected to Savin Rock. This area features some war monuments and of course, "Bradley Point", which seems to be a rock formation that jettisons out into the water. People fish off the point, but I have to say, I was pretty disgusted by the amount of litter and garbage that was left all over the place.

This beach is normally connected to Savin Rock and Bradley Point by a walkway, but it was under construction when we visited. This is pretty much a straight forward beach, but there is a playground on site for the kids. It wasn't very busy around sunset on a Monday evening, so I was able to let the dogs run and play on the beach a bit.

This is a paved trail along the West Haven waterfront, that serves as the boardwalk for the various beaches. We started at Morse Park, and headed east to the end of the trail near the boat launch. After checking out the boat launch, we headed back west and walked all the way to Savin Rock Park. On our way back, we passed a number of small parks, as well as Sandy Point Beach & Bird Sanctuary. The section between Beach Street and Savin Rock is actually part of the Savin Rock Condominium property, but it is open to the public. This part is called "West Walk" and we actually walked this section before, back in the summer of '21 when we were visiting Savin Rock Beach and Bradley Point Park. This is a nice section, lined with multiple flower beds on the condo side. When we were here in the summer, I didn't take any photos here. It was very busy, and there was too much traffic around to take good photos, so I made sure to take a few this time around when it was much less busy. I don't remember the giant West Haven beach chair being there three years ago. This was a much better adventure than I thought it would be, and a very fun four mile walk.

Usually dogs are not allowed in a bird sanctuary. In fact, as we were walking on the Beach Street Trail, I saw the "No Dogs" sign. On our walk back, I noticed that the sign actually read "No Dogs During Bird Nesting Season (April 1st - September 1st)", so the dogs are actually allowed here this time of year. Once I re-read the sign, we decided to walk a very short trail through the sandy and grassy area out to the beach. Like all Connecticut beaches, the water opens out to Long Island Sound and there are no waves. I've become a real beach snob lately, after visiting so many nice beaches in surrounding states!

We passed this display while headed over to the Beach Street Trail. On our way out, we stopped to take some photos in front of this impressive display. The signs say that donations are accepted between 4 and 9PM daily for a Halloween Pet Food drive. It's a good cause, but despite one of the decorations having a sign that read "Donate Here," I couldn't find a place to leave the donation.

This is a beach area along the border of the Woodmont Borough of Milford, near the mouth of the Oyster River. We had already walked four miles in Woodmont, so we didn't explore much of this beach. We just took a couple photos and headed back.
