When I think of Fairfield County, I think about the towns along the shore line. I don't really think about towns like Easton and Weston. These towns are very rural and aren't directly accesible from I-95, I-84 or the Merritt Parkway. They are really different from the "mainstream" Fairfield County towns that I am more familiar with. These more rural towns are really very nice! This preserve is an Aspetuck Land Trust property, and features a very enjoyable two mile trail. There is a very nice pine forest area here, as well as a very nice spot near a small waterfall.

We came here after Jennings Beach in Fairfield. We were just one town over and about 10 minutes away from the beach, but it seemed like we were in a different world. The beach was sunny and warm for the time of year, and lacked snow on the ground. Here, it was cloudy, cold, and the middle of winter, as we hiked a packed down trail up a hill. The hill is called "Jump Hill" and loop trail we hiked is called "Peter's Trail." I don't know who Peter is, but he has himself a very nice trail.
