Mandy and Lexi had been a little off-the-wall of late. With the 'Blizzard of '26' dumping feet of snow around the area earlier in the week, it's been difficult finding places to visit. There was actually less snow to the north, and a sunnier forecast, so we headed up to southern New Hampshire. The plan was to take a few photos near this bridge, then head to the Downtown Historic District for the majority of our walk. This is a very cool covered bridge. It features pedestrian sidewalks on either side, but one side was closed. It's also very near the Ashuelot Rail Trail, which to my surprise, was passable so we actually headed there next.

This is a 22 miles trail leading from Hinsdale to Keene. We covered a two and a half mile segment from the Ashuelot Covered Bridge to Downtown Winchester. We actually walked this in two segments, first from the covered bridge to the bridge over the Ashuelot River. Initially, that was the only segment we were going to walk, but at our next stop at the Winchester Historic District, I decided to walk from the downtown area to the bridge where we turned around initially. I wasn't planning on walking this trail at all, because I assumed the snow cover would make it too difficult, but the trail is used for snowmobiling, so it was packed down pretty well and easy to navigate. The trail passes some sort of farm that still had Christmas decorations out. There was a great view of some of the farm animals at one point. This trail was a pleasant surprise, and made for a great winter adventure.

I was planning the majority of our walk to be around this area of town, but the sidewalks were pretty messy, so we stayed mostly on the Rail Trail instead. We still went for a short walk along Main Street.
