We ventured up to New Hampshire for the first time on a whim after work on a Friday. While it was rainy in the Hartford CT area, the weather app said the sun was out there. By the time we got there, the skies had clouded up considerably. We initially started at the southern end of the trail, but after about a half mile,it was pretty boring so we walked back to the car and went drove to the next parking area, a couple miles north of where we were. This spot was much better. The "trail" in this spot doubles as a dirt road that fishermen use to access the Connecticut River. The old rail trail is built up on a peninsula with water on each side. There is another peninsula which jets out into the river. It wasn't a bad walk, but certainly not worth the trip. It's a good thing we found somewhere cool to stop in Brattleboro, VT on the way home.
