We drove through some snow squalls on the Mass Pike getting here. Once we arrived, it was only lightly snowing, and after ten minutes or so, the snow had stopped and the sun was starting to peek out. We started at the trail head near the library, across the street from Wayland Depot, and headed east. We explored a short side trail that looped back around to the bike trail, and eventually crossed over into Weston near Jericho Town Forest, where we also took a detour and hiked a short loop trail. It was here, that we went from sunny skies to major snow squall in four minutes! (Pictures are on the Weston Page). Actually, this stretch of trail would be pretty boring if not for the snow squall! We headed back, but continued west past Wayland Depot where the trail becomes a stone dust trail and runs another half mile or so until it reaches a shopping plaza. At this point, the sun was out and it seemed like a totally different day! In all, we walked a total of five miles, and dealt with some crazy weather along the way.
