I did not realize at the time, but the section of the Mass Central Rail Trail in Weston we were walking on, crossed into Waltham. This is the part of the trail east of the rail road bridge that is not finished. It's not paved like the rest of the trail and the signage and maintenance is not present. It's probably not officially open, but there wasn't any "No Trespassing" or "Trail Closed" signs posted. This section of the trail runs between office buildings. It crosses Jones Road by the New York Life building, and follows the power line cut out after that. We didn't explore much further than that.

This is a 59 acre park located in Belmont and Waltham. There are two sections to the park. The northern section features the remains of Plympton Mill. There is a trail that loops around two small pond and the waterfall. The southern section, is across Trapelo Road (Route 60) and features a paved walking trail that loops the property, as well a playground and a spray deck. This part is a very popular place for dog walking. We encountered a number of dogs, and most were off-leash, but none acted aggressive or anything. We walked through both sections. Beaver Brook serves as the border between the towns, and the trails in both sections cross the brook multiple times. Our entire walk was about three miles. The pictures below are from the Waltham sections of the park. Check out the Belmont Page for photos from the park taken in that town.
