Nystrom's Park

Date visited: 10/24/2021

This park is very well maintained. The athletic track and tennis courts are pristine. The walking trail is real short. Dogs are allowed on the beach in the off season, but it was too cold the day we visited for the dogs to swim.

Black Rock Lake

Date visited: 4/8/2021

We were driving through, and passed a big sign for "Black Rock Lake", so I decided to check it out. There is a parking area and a paved walkway on a levee. There didn't seem to be any actual access to the lake itself from this area....sort of misleading! This area seemed to be set up as a glorified dog walking area. There were signs related to that, as well as poop bags provided. There wasn't a lot here, but Black Rock State Park abuts this property (according to Google Maps, this is part of the state park). The sun was setting, but perhaps we will come back and check out the main part of the state park when there is more time.
