This is a small "lake" that straddles the border of Ansonia and Seymour. "Lake" is a generous term, it could be a pond maybe, but it is more of a giant puddle! There's a half mile trail that circles the body of water (Fountain Lake Reservoir is the name on the map). The trail is actually quite nice, although a bit short. There are a lot of tall pine trees, that makes the whole path rather scenic. When we got back to the car, there were two young adults hitting the blunt in the parking lot. One of them looked at Mandy and Lexi, and asked if I had three pugs! They were quite stoned! Of course it was 4/20, so it was appropriate!

We got here via Rockhouse Hill Sanctuary in Oxford. I actually picked this place beacuse it features "Great Hill Reservoir" that I was hoping Mandy could go in to cool off. The "reservoir" was very mucky, so that didn't work out. We did see a beaver swimming though.

This is a park built around Tingue Dam, that features a fish bypass channel to facilitate fish movement around the dam. The park itself is relatively new. I think it opened about 10 years ago. It's well maintained. There is a very short cement walking path near the waterfall where people can fish. Mandy and Lexi took the opportunity to cool off in the running water. From here you can also access the Seymour section of the Naugatuck River Greenway.

This is the Seymour section of the Naugatuck River Greenway, a planned 44 mile multi-use trail. Not much of it is complete. There are various sections in other towns like Derby, Ansonia, and Torrington. The plan is for the trail to go through all the towns along the Naugatuck River, and to connect all the sections. I doubt that will happen in Mandy & Lexi's lifetime. This particular section is quite short, less than a half mile. The best part of this part of the trail is that it accesses the Paul Pawlak Sr. Fish Bypass. We walked the path in both directions, before continuing our walk through Downtown Seymour.

After visiting the Paul Pawlak Sr. Fish Bypass and the Naugatuck River Greenway, we decided to continue our walk around downtown Seymour. We headed up to Kisson's Crossing, a wooden staircase and bridge over the train tracks. The walkway continues as a cement sidewalk leading to Washington Avenue. We continued on Washington Avenue past another staircase (that we did not go down), and a church, before looping back around to Main Street and the Town Hall. We were then back to the parking area for the Fish Bypass and Greenway.
