Even though I finished the project, and Mandy and Lexi visited every town in Connecticut, some towns had better visits than others. For Salem, I had only stopped briefly and took a photo of the dogs in front of a giant rooster statue. I decided to re-visit Salem, and actually visit a trail in the town. This one also seems to be known as "Salem Nature Trail." This is actually a real nice, very flat trail. Most of it is wide, and stone dust surfaced, but there are some regular dirt loop trails that connect. There's a really nice, relatively new bridge too.

This is a fun nature preserve, with a variety of different landscapes. The terrain ranges from open fields, to pine forests, to narrow rocky walkways with water on either side. My favorite part was the Orange Trail, which is one of those narrow paths. There is a lot of beaver activity here too, featuring some very large beaver built dams.
