This tract of land is a popular hiking spot in the towns of Orange and Woodbridge. At the beginning of the trails, there's a neat brook that looked slick with the layer of ice on it. We hiked a loop trail that went into a nice pine forest.

This is a nice walk in the woods. We started on the main stone dust trail. After the large foot bridge, we followed the orange blaze trail. The trail narrows, but it is still an easy hike. About two thirds of the way in, there is a stream crossing on a much smaller bridge, and then some rocks. At this point, the trail gets a bit hard to follow. This part is a bit overgrown with some mud in some spots, but nothing that was too difficult to get through. There is a small waterfall near the end. The entire trail does not stray too far from the Wilbur Cross Parkway and Route 34, so you hear traffic noise the entire time. The trail continues a short distance up to Route 34. You can see a trail under the bridge on the other side of the river, but we didn't try to get over there or anything. Our whole route was a bit over two miles out and back.

This park is the site of the town fairgrounds. There's a paved 0.7 mile loop trail around the fairgrounds and the High Plains Community Center. There is also the "Paul Ode Nature Trail", a short trail through the woods with a disc golf course. We also walked up Orange Center Road a short ways to the historic district. We got caught in the rain on our way back. The weather has been awful lately, but at least we got out today and got to enjoy a pretty nice park.
