This is a small public beach in Old Lyme. The sign said "No Pets", but when we arrived there were other people walking their dogs here. It's probably okay in the off-season, but I'm quite sure dogs aren't welcome during beach season. This is an okay beach for a quick walk.

We hiked a "figure 8" loop here that ran just under a mile. The path is a pretty standard walk in the woods, with some rock formations and stone walls. It's bug season, and they were out in full force here. That is to be expected with these wooded trails this time of year. It was overcast and muggy when we started, but the sun came out by the end of the hike. The trail was okay, but nothing about is unique or very different from any other short walk in the woods.

This is the area on the Old Lyme side of the Connecticut River over the Raymond Baldwin Bridge. We started on the Old Saybrook side, and crossed the bridge. This was the nicer side. There's a small park area on this end, with some well-worn informational signs about the bridge and the history of the area. We also took an opportunity to walk under the bridge and get some photos closer to the river.

This was a fun hike in the woods. We hiked from the trail head about a half mile until we reached a new wooden bench. There's a stream crossing over rocks, before the trail becomes a loop. We headed right at the loop. There are two very short, steep climbs on this route, but the rest is a very gradual incline. The other side has a very steep incline. We headed down on that side. The red blazed part of the loop leaves Old Lyme Land Trust land and is on private property, but you are allowed to hike it as long as you stay on the trail. The trail is very well marked, and there are just enough rocks and roots to make it a fun hike, but not too difficult.
