This is yet another multi-town multi-use rail trail, this one is called the Housatonic Rail Trail. The first section we walked runs adjacent to Wolfe Park, but dogs are not allowed in Wolfe Park. I just don't get these towns that don't allow dogs in their parks! We came back and walked a different part of the trail as we crossed into Monroe from the Pequonnock Valley Greenway in Trumbull. This part of the trail wasn't quite as nice. We returned again the following winter to walk the section of trail from Pepper Street to the Newtown Rail Trail. This section was not great. It ran alongside a construction zone, and was exteremely muddy.

Not to be confused with Webb Mountain Park, Webb Mountain Discovery Zone is an area down the road from the main park, that is tailored for kids. There is a "scavenger hunt", with educational signs that explain the geography and the nature of the area. There are signs along the trail, complete with cutesy names for the different sections of the trail, such as Turtle Turnpike, Froggy Freeway, and Hawk Highway, among others. Some of the terrain is hilly and rocky and might be tough for kids, but there are plenty of benches along the way. Toward the end of our hike, we encountered a group of what I think was Brownies, with their Scout Master. It turns out they were on an educational trip, and one of the things they noticed were fresh paw prints in the snow. Turns out they were tracking Mandy and Lexi!
