I had planned to hike this part of the multi-town trail that runs along side the Naugatuck River. I did the Ansonia River Walk section and crossed the street where the trail continued into Derby as the Derby Greemnway....except the Derby Greenway did not allow dogs! So, basically I got one picture of the dogs at the monument in front of the trail. I really have to question these towns that don't allow dogs on the trails.

We stopped at this state park in Derby. This is a pretty nice park. The parking area is near a pond, and there was a lot of people fishing and picknicking. We hiked some of the trails, and circled the pond. We saw a family of geese, complete with a mom, dad and 11 babies!

This is a nice park in Derby with trails around the Ansonia Reservoirs. The beginning of the trail is beautiful, even in the winter. Large pine trees drape the frozen reservoirs, and make for a scenic vista. There is an easy, wide trail that loops around the lower reservoir. Another trail follows the upper reservoir for a while before heading into Ansonia, and eventually ending at Chargers Field, the Ansonia High School soccer field. We followed this trail into Ansonia, reaching the soccer field before turning around and heading back. We walked a total of four miles here on a nice and sunny winter afternoon.
