Since we often visit beaches in the winter time, it seems appropriate to visit a ski lodge in the summer! We actually came here to hike the short "Balanced Rock Trail", which turned out to be the least interesting part of our adventure. The trail itself was a very muddy climb up a hill leading to a large rock that sits on top of another large rock. I wound up carrying the dogs over much of the trail because of the mud. We took "Balanced Rock Road" back down instead of returning the same way we came. This is a gravel road, but was dry and was actually made for a wonderfully scenic walk back, passing through the ski slopes. It crosses over into Princeton, and the pictures from that portion of the adventure can be found on that page. We also explored the area around the ski lodge itself. I especially liked the carved benches and the statue of "Frosty" the dog. This turned out to be a really fun two and a quarter mile hike.
