Warren Center Village & Common

Date visited: 4/20/2026

This is the main village area of Warren. The common is a nice open space with a few benches. There are a few shops and restaurants around the common. It would have looked a bit nicer on a sunnier day. The real issue on this trip was the man that threatened me while I was taking photos of the dogs in front of the statue. He first commented that I had "good looking dogs", and asked what breed they were, which I answered politely. Then he asked if I was from around here, and I replied simply "no", as I was trying to take a photo of the dogs in front of the statue (which I never actually got). Then he proceeded to tell me I need to be more friendly, and perhaps I should leave. At this point, I think I said "excuse me?", and he said that maybe I should leave "before my dogs get hurt". I asked if he was threatening me, and he said "no, I'm threatening your dogs". I pointed out the police station was about 200 feet behind me, he muttered something which I didn't catch, but eventually walked away. Sadly enough this is actually the second such encounter like this in the last couple of weeks. The first was in Newark, but I didn't even mention it here because it was....well Newark, and you might expect that there. But this is small town Warren Massachusetts, and I would have expected a much friendlier vibe. We probably won't be back here anytime soon.

Lucy Stone Park

Date visited: 4/20/2026

We walked here from Warren Center Village & Common. This is a pretty nice park. The park extends on both sides of the road. There's access to the river. If it is hot day, I'm sure Mandy and Lexi certainly would have cooled off. There are picnic tables, as well as a short trail. The boardwalk on the trail is pretty impressive.
