The North County Trailway is a bike trail that runs through the northern half of Westchester County. It's sort of a sister to the South Country Trailway that runs through the southern part of the county. We covered the northern most two miles of the trail, heading south from Baldwin Place to Mahopac Avenue and back. It's a pretty typical stretch of bike trail. Despite starting behind a shopping plaza, the trail is pretty rural. The first three quarters or so of our trip was downhill, which meant it was uphill on the way back. It wasn't steep, but it was a long and steady incline. It wasn't very scenic this time of year. The most interesting section was just past the river near the farm. The trail actually continues north into Carmel as the Putnam Trailway. We actually walked about a mile and a half of that trail as well.
