Seabrook

Seabrook Beach

Date visited: 9/17/2023

With this visit, Mandy and Lexi have been to beaches in seven different states! This is one of the more dog friendly beaches in New Hampshire. Dogs are allowed after Labor Day until Memorial Day any time, and before 8AM and after 6PM during the summer months. While that is great for Seabrook residents, it's not great for visitors because there are strict parking rules. Only cars with placards issued by the town can park until September 16th. Fortunately, September 17th was a very nice beach day, and both the dog rules and parking rules are relaxed. (You still need to find parking on the street, there is no lot). The beach covers the entire coastline of the town. In fact, the northern end of the beach, by the harbor inlet, is actually in the Town of Hampton. We walked the entire length of the beach, and even crossed the state line into Salisbury Beach in Salisbury, Massachusetts. It was a four mile walk in total. The beach is pretty nice, and reminded me of some of the nicer Rhode Island beaches. The sand is soft, and not very rocky. The waves were ripping. Remnants of Hurricane Lee were off to the north, but still causing high waves. While this is a great beach, keep in mind there are no amenities of any kind. No bathrooms, garbage cans, beach houses, etc... not even a parking lot. Even without that stuff, it's probably still worth the trip if you are in the area during the right time of year.
