This was a beach we didn't get to last autumn during our Jersey Shore visits. Temps were into the 60's, and since the town's website stated dogs were only allowed until March 15, we only had a few days left. Of course, when we arrived the signs at the beach said dogs were allowed from September 16th through May 15th. It looked like the signs were changed, but the website wasn't. At any rate, it was a good day for a walk on the beach. We walked the entire length of the beach in Sea Girt, as well as about three quarters of Manasquan Beach to the south, and part of Pier Beach in Spring Lake to the north. All told, it was a six mile walk, our longest of the year so far.

This is a historic, decommissioned lighthouse, overlooking Sea Girt Beach. It was originally built in 1896 and restored in 1981. It's different from most lighthouses we've visited, as it looks like a regular house! It's open to the public for tours in the summer season.
