Red Hook

Poet's Walk Park

Date visited: 10/9/2024

This is a very nice park. There's an easy trail through a meadow that leads to the cool structure you see in the first picture. The trail continues to a lookout point, with views of the Hudson River. The next part of the trail is narrow, with more rugged terrain through the woods that leads to "Summer House", a nice area with a gazebo and benches that also offers great views of the Hudson. I only wish we were here on a sunnier day, but the sun did peak through the clouds a few times. This park is really lovely this time of year.

Heermance Farm

Date visited: 2/20/2023

We drove by this farm on the way to the Clermont State Historic Site, and saw the sculpture near the side of the road and decided to stop to take a picture. The sculpture is called "Moondance" created by Kris Perry, and is on display at the farm. It reminds me a little bit of the robot from the new version of "Lost In Space".
