The pier is the central feature in the village of Piermont. It extends a mile into the Hudson River and offers wonderful views of the Mario Cuomo Bridge to the north. There were two distinct sections to our walk. The first is the North Shore Walkway, a pedestrian only sidewalk that runs between the fancy condos/apartments and the north side of the pier. The walkway is open until 5:30 PM daily. The second part is on Ferry Road, from the end of the North Shore Walkway to the tip of the pier. This section is shared with vehicular traffic, and is a very popular spot for fishing. It was a gorgeous day, so it was quite busy when we visited. We passed many other dog walkers, and people were very impressed with how well Mandy and Lexi pose for photos.

This is the park area at the base of the pier. There was a farmer's market going on the day we were here, with a folk singer singing songs and playing guitar on the green. Although well passed peak, some fall foliage provided some wonderful color to the park. We walked around the park, and the small shops nearby after finishing our walk to the end of the end of the pier.

This is a small park in the village of Nyack, on the shore of the Hudson River. I actually lived in Nyack for two months in 1996. I was working as a contractor for a software company on-site at an insurance company downtown. Although I've driven through on the highway, I have not been back in the village since. The park is a popular fishing spot and place for dog walking. It offers views of the Mario Cuomo bridge from the north.

When we visited the State Line Lookout in New Jersey, we briefly crossed the state line on the Long Path Trail into New York and took one picture from the New York side.
