"ACROSS Lexington" is a network of marked trails that utilize existing public ways around Lexington. There are various routes laid out, we followed "Route E", a 4.5 mile loop around the town. The route starts near the center of town, and then utilizes the Minute Man Bike trail for the first third of the walk. It then follows a series of dirt paths through conservation areas, parks, city sidewalks, and side streets. The walk offered a variety of different views along the way, including many historic buildings, mostly around the center of town. It was about 60 degrees and sunny when we started, so it wasn't the typical February walk. I left my jacket in the car, and was quite comfortable! We completed the loop, but didn't get a chance to visit some of the other historic sites in town that weren't right on this route. We will have to return at a later date for that. It was a fun trip on a very nice spring-like day in February!

We returned to the same area we visited three days before. Somehow, I missed taking pictures at the "Battle Green", even though we were a block away. Since we were visiting the Old North Bridge in nearby Concord, I decided to come back here and take the pictures I didn't take the other day. The opening shots of the American Revolution were fired here, back in 1775. There are a number of monuments here, including the Minute Man statue.
