We parked in Downtown Concord, and followed the All-Trails route out to the North Bridge section of Minute Man National Park. It's a nice New England town, with small shops and a number of monuments. Combined with the walk over to North Bridge, we walked about three miles here.

We walked here from Downtown Concord. The Minute Man National Historic Park is a large National Park with multiple sections. This is the section around the historic North Bridge. This is the site of one of the earliest battles of the Revolutionary War. The bridge is a replica of the original bridge, built in 1956. There's a stone dust trail that leads up a hill up to the visitor's center. The trail was quite muddy in places, and it was hard to get a picture of the dogs in front of the famous statue here. The sun was directly behind the statues, and it was too muddy to take it from a different angle.

This looks like a new park, where construction had just finished, or is nearly finished. It's right off the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail, across the street from the prison, and overlooking Warner's Pond. There is no actual access to the pond. There's a building with bathrooms, but a local informed me that the bathrooms have never been opened. Besides the bathrooms, there's a pavilion area a short gravel walking trail. The land was purchased by the town from the Gerow Family in 2018.

We started at the trail-head near the Concord Rotary and prison. It seemed strange having a recreational area like this, right across the street from a prison. It guess there is a plan to close the prison by 2024, as it's only home to about 300 inmates at this point. There's a connecting trail to Gerow Recreation Area near the trail head. After exploring Gerow for a bit, we headed northwest on the trail, across a long, new bridge over Route 2. The bridge opened in the summer of 2023. Shortly after the bridge, the trail heads into Acton, where we continue for about a mile, before turning around and heading back.
For this trip, we started at the same point as as last time, but headed the other direction toward West Concord Center. The trail passes right along side the prison, before heading into the town center about two thirds of a mile in. I still think it's weird having this bike trail so close to a prison. Once in the town center, there is a train station and a small cafe. This area gives some strong small village vibes. The trail crosses Route 62, and passes, by Assabet River Bluff, and then crosses Old Marlboro Road twice. We turned around at the second crossing, near Old Rifle Rage Conservation Land, and headed back the way we came.

This is a small preserve, accessed from the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. There's a path that runs along a ridge, with views of the Assabet River from above. At the end of the short path, there's a hill that leads down to the river, and a smaller, more narrow trail that loops around through the woods back to the beginning of the trail.
