It was awful weather in Connecticut, so we came up here for the 4th of July. We had to drive through torrential downpours and thunderstorms to get here, but when we arrived in the area here, the sun was out! This is a nice park on the shores of the Mohawk River. There's a paved bike trail here called the Crescent Trail that we intended on walking. Unfortunately, the down side to sun is the heat! The trail lacks shade, and it was too hot for the dogs, so we only walked about a half mile before we turned around and headed back. We wound up finding a shadier trail a few miles away.

This is a small park along the western shore of the Hudson River. Based on the name of the park, I figured the park overlooked a lighthouse on the river, but the only lighthouse here is the small statue in the center of the park. The park is actually very beautiful, and well maintained, but small. You can pretty much see most of the park from the first picture. There is a pier that goes out to the river, most likely used mainly for fishing. Across the street is a connecting trail that leads to the Empire State Trail bike trail. There was a thunderstorm approaching, so we took our photos and continued on elsewhere.
