We hiked the "1825 Erie Canal Towpath Trai". This is an interesting trail. There are actually two trails here with that name. One is a wide stone dust surfaced bike path, and the other is a narrow dirt trail. The trails are on different "towpaths" through the old Erie Canal. We actually hiked the narrow dirt trail, which runs for a mile. There's a connection to the bike path that we could have taken back, but the bike path lacked shade so we returned the way we came. We did walk a short bit of the bike path on the side where we started from. There's a small connecting trail that leads out to a lookout over the Mohawk River. We wound up walking a total of three miles here.
Village Plaza

We stopped at the Petsmart at this shopping plaza, since we needed more dog treats. In the center of the parking lot was an area highlighted by a giant purple modern art sculpture of sort kind. I can't find any information on this piece, why it is here, who designed it, etc. It's rather unusual to see something like this at a pretty basic strip mall.
