This is a historic neighborhood along Old Main Street that features colonial era houses, some of which are now museums, and others are private residences. The Deerfield Inn is here, as well as Deerfield Academy, a college-prep boarding school. We walked the length of Old Main Street and back, stopping for photos in front of many of the historic houses. The place is sort of a ghost-town this time of year. I don't think any of the museums were open. There was also a significant of snow melting taking place. None of the places we've visited recently had snow on the ground, but there must have been a lot more snow up here, because it was 60 degrees and there were still snow piles. Luckily the sidewalks were pretty dry. This was a fun and easy walk on a very mild afternoon in mid-March.

This is another one of those paved rail trails in the Turners Falls section of Montague, that crosses the Connecticut River into Deerfield. The section in Deerfield is short, about a mile total. The crossing over the Connecticut River is on an old retrofit of a rail bridge built in 1880.
