Instead of driving back and forth to the Jersey Shore two days in a row, like last week, we decided to stay overnight. This is the first time Mandy & Lexi ever stayed in a hotel. Mandy didn't really like the change in her routine, but Lexi seemed to enjoy her "vacation"! The hotel was really nice. It's right around the corner from the beach. The room was small, but it served it's purpose.

We were staying at The Grenville, right around the corner from the Harris Street beach access. Since I was up early to let the dogs out anyway, we decided to walk to the beach and watch the sunrise. This is the earliest in the day we ever went on an adventure... sunrise was at 6:32 AM! We got there just in time! Needless to the say, this is the first time we ever witnessed a sunrise at the beach. Dogs are allowed on this beach from the day after Labor Day through June 14th. We walked about one and three quarter miles total, including a short detour out to Twilight Lake, on the other end of Harris Street, before returning to the hotel.

Day three of "Beach Week" had us returning to Bay Head. Of the nice beaches on the Jersey Shore, this was the only one I found that allows dogs back right after Labor Day. We actually started right where we left off in November and headed south, eventually crossing into Mantoloking. It was warm, but very windy and I had issues with moisture constantly getting on the camera lens, so there isn't as many photos as usual. The waves were incredible, and the water looked very choppy. There was a boat, just off shore, that featured an electronic billboard that would rotate different advertisements for viewers on the shore. This was a really odd day for that, as the surf was rough and it kept looking like the boat would tip over. Also, it was the Thursday after Labor Day, and not many people were actually on the beach to see the advertisements anyway. Despite the windy conditions, we actually had a great 4.5+ mile walk here along the Jersey Shore.
