I love this trail. This was a very pleasant walk around the reservoir, with lots of opportunities to take some nice photos on the way. The first one below is one of my favorites.

Peterson Park & Mattatuck Trail

Date visited: 7/26/2021

This is another great trail. We hiked the first mile and a half or so of the Mattatuck Trail, a 42 mile trail that starts at Peterson Park in Wolcott, and goes all the way to Cornwall. This section of the trail follows the Mad River, and it is very scenic. About a mile in, there is a nice area with cascades and some cool bridges. We took a lot of pictures at this spot. I especially liked the troll bridge. A lot of time and effort must have been spent building that! We continued a little further to the next set of cascades, before turning around and heading back.
