I drove here after working (from home of course). It was so dreary all day, but the sun was shining brightly here! This is another great Connecticut State Park. This seems to be popular with the campers. There were already campers here. Most of the other parks that allowed camping don't open for camping until May. There were tents set up, and even large campers. One person was running a generator. There were alot of people fishing at well. We walked a loop trail that was partly on paved park roads, and partly on trails. It was all very scenic.

The River Trail is one of a series of trail behind Griswold School. We parked at the trail head on William Drive. The trail proceeds down a hill, before going under I-395. The next part of the trail that heads to the school is very nice. It runs along side the Quinebaug River. The end of the trail leads to the athletic fields behind the school. We took a connecting trail back to the river trail, and headed back to where we parked. We walked about 2 1/2 miles total.
