Bruce Park is a beautiful park in the heart of Greenwich. There are paved walking trails, and picnic areas, and various sculptures on display. There's a new bike/pedestrian bridge here too that's part of the East Coast Greenway. This is a nice place to go to walk your dog if you are in the area.

Also known as Tod's Point, Greenwich Point Park is the jewel of the town's shoreline. I wasn't sure we'd ever be able to visit this place. Non residents are not allowed during summer months, and there are some reports that even in the off-season they are turned away at the gate. For whatever reason, on the Thursday between Christmas and New Years, we were able to visit. The park is very popular and it was very busy for a winter day! There are also reports online that dogs are not allowed, but they are allowed in the off-season. In fact, it seems like the beach is an off-leash dog area during the winter months. We walked a loop that circles the perimeter of the park. Most of the loop either utilized or ran near the park road, but about one third of the loop was a wide dirt trail that runs right along side the shore, and offers incredible views. On a clear day, you can see New York City from one spot along the trail. It was very hazy when we visited, so it was barely visible, and not really clear enough to get any good photos. The Holly Grove section is very nice. This small section of the park stays green year around because of the tall holly trees. The picture in front of the Holly Grove looks like it was taken in the middle of the summer. Looking at the picture, it's hard to believe it was the end of December! I'm glad we were finally able to visit this park. It's worth the trip, as long as they let you in!

This is the second of three stops on this day. This is a small park with great views of Cos Cob Harbor. There's a paved walking trail that circles the park. It sort of spirals at the top of the hill where there is a 9/11 monument. There isn't any access to the water, but there is a playground a turf soccer field. It's a nice spot to take the dogs for a walk.

This is a fun set of trails located on the border of Greenwich and Stamford. There are actually two parks here, Mianus River Park and Mianus River State Park, but I'm not sure exactly where one ends and the other begins. There is a maze of trails here, we hiked a two mile loop. It was a crazy warm day for February, as we were up near 70 degrees. This definitely felt like a spring hike.

This is a really nice park. I probably should have visited on a nicer day, but I could say that about every place we go. I think a town beach pass is necessary in-season. According to the sign at the entrance, the season starts on May 1st. Dogs are allowed in the park year round, but are only allowed on the beach from December through March. We were a few days late, but briefly checked it out anyway (there were other dogs there as well). The statue of the dog is in honor of Yogi, Greenwich's first police dog. It's not a large park, we basically circled the park and walked just under a mile.

The novelty of snowy hikes has worn off. I'm ready for the spring! This was a two mile hike through a town park, sandwiched between residential neighborhoods. Besides the trail, there is a park area with a baseball field, a small playground, and a tennis court. The trail was nice, but icy and hard to follow in places. One section, right at the border of someone's property, featured what looked like bamboo. I've never seen that in this area before.

This was a 3.5 mile walk through the historic downtown area of Greenwich. Most of the trip consisted of walking up and down Greenwich Avenue, a street filled with high end shops, restaurants, and art galleries. We also walked through the town common and over to the Greenwich Town Hall, as well as some of the other streets that intersect Greenwich Avenue. The streets were busy as the weather was pleasant, even if it was a bit breezy. Some of the shops left bowls of water for the dogs, as it's a popular area for dog walkers. This was an enjoyable walk through the center of town.
