This is a small park on the east side of Canterbury. The park lies adjacent to the Quinebaug River. There is a very short trail that looks like it might have been longer at one point. It provides access to the river and the boat launch. The rest of the park is your standard town park with playgrounds, athletic fields, and a short stone dust walking trail. There is also a volleyball court.

I've been trying to make a second run through each town. For some towns, it is very hard to find these kind of places to visit. Canterbury is one of those towns. This is a little known preserve, pretty much out in the middle of nowhere. It took two dirt roads to get here. I did find a couple reviews of the place online. After reading them, I didn't have high hopes for the place. But it really wasn't that bad. The beginning of the trail was muddy, but after that it was fine. The line of pine trees is actually really cool. We hiked a loop trail that was just under a mile.

This is a Joshua's Land Trust propertly located almost entirely in Hampton. The very far corner of the loops appears to be in Canterbury and the picture below is from that spot. Read about this trail on the Hampton page.
