I had been to this park before, way back in 2005. I went to a "Bark In The Park" event here. Keep in mind this was long before Mandy and Lexi were around. I had dogs at the time, but did not bring them because I was there to see a band that was playing at the event. (The band was called "Spiraling", and featured Tom Brislin, who had played keyboards on tour with Yes, and later would be a member of Renaissance and Kansas). Fast forward 18 years, I remembered there being some trails here, so I finally decided to check them out with Mandy and Lexi. The routes on the All-Trails app here were all 10+ miles long and required you to climb a mountain, so we went our own way. The main trail we took was the "Amelia Green Trail," which runs right along the pond. It was short, but sweet. We also walked around some other trails and the park road. The park borders a golf course, and we wound up on the course briefly. This was a very pleasant evening walk.

Pistol Creek is an old golf course in Berlin, that's been converted into walking trails. They extend across the street and down a very steep hill where they cross the border into Middletown. These photos were from the Berlin section.

The curated trail for Hatchery Brook Conservation Area in the All-Trails app was only about a mile long, so we expanded our walk on trails that connect to Bicentennial Park. The trail system is extensive, and the trails are all well marked. There was a nice variety of wooded areas and open space. We hiked about four miles in total. It was a very pleasant hike on a nice fall day.

This didn't seem like a real conservation area. The path was pretty much a dirt road. I don't recall seeing heavy construction equipment at many conservation areas. There is farm land on one side of the trail, and woods on the other. All in all, this trail was pretty "blah".
