This is a very scenic spot that I have driven by many times. I tried to stop here with the dogs earlier in the year, but the whole area was closed because too many people were gathering. It has re-opened, but there really isn't too much to do here. You can pretty much walk along the street on either side of the road, but that's it. It looks like there used to be an area around Lake McDonough that you could go, but that's all closed off now. I remember Lexi almost gave me a heart attack here as she tried to jump up on the ledge near the castle like structure, not realizing that it goes straight down on the other side. I get nervous now just thinking about it! We came back the following fall and took some more pictures that feature some autumn colors.

Not far from Saville Dam is Peoples State Forest, which includes a multitude of trails. We parked at the Elliot Bronson Trail trailhead, and hiked up a steep hill to access the Walt Landgraf Trail. (I don't know who these people are and what they did to get a trail named after them). Once on the Walt Landgraf trail, we hiked up another steep hill until we encountered the "End Of Trail" sign, but then we hiked a little further. There were some cool rock formations at the end of the trail that made for some nice photos. On the way back down, I let Lexi lead the way. She correctly navigated every turn until we arived back at the car!
