This isn't really the trail I was intending on walking. I was looking for something called "River Walk," but it turned out to be in a completely different place from what my map said. So instead, we just walked part of the Washington Secondary Bike Path that runs from Riverpoint Park to the war monuments. We also went a short way past Riverpoint Park and across the bridge over the river. I did eventually find "River Walk", but it was getting dark and it looked like dogs weren't allowed anyway.

Our next visit was almost a year later. We walked a 2 1/4 mile section between where we left off in Coventry, and where we left off in West Warwick. The West Warwick portion is very urban, and features a long, but not very steep hill that I didn't notice going down, but certainly noticed on our way back going up.

The third segment of the trail we walled in West Warwick ran about a mile from Riverpoint Park to the Warwick town line. This section of the trail is mostly behind businesses on Providence Street (Route 33).

This is actually the trail I was looking for last July, but couldn't find. There's another "River Walk" near Riverpoint Park, but that park does not allow dogs. The dogs are allowed at this "River Walk". I found it this time because the trail has been added to All-Trails since the last time I was here. There's a big "WWRW" sign visible from the road at the trail head, but Google and/or Waze never brought me to right street last time. Anyway, this is a short trail that goes down a gradual hill and eventually reaches the large dam on the Pawtuxet River. The last segment is on a wooden bridge, but just sort of dead ends. It looks like it continued at one point, but perhaps the bridge got damaged somehow and was never rebuilt.

This park used to be known as "Manchester Street Park". It looks like sometime since 2019 (the date of the Google Street View photos), the park was renamed and a small parking area and sign were built. There is a very nice dock that looks out to the Pawtuxet River. It's primary use is for fishing, and multiple people were fishing on it when we arrived. There is a short trail that leads that to an apartment complex. There is a number of places from the trail where the river can be accessed. Unfortunately, the whole area was littered with trash. I see this at fishing spots often! It was actually pretty disgusting in places. We added a few more steps by walking around the block, past a playground and the historical society. All in all, this isn't a great place to take dogs for a walk. It was one of our most disappointing adventures of the year.
