Today was chilly and dreary Friday. I don't usually take half days off from when it's this dreary, but the weather hadn't been great all week. It was forecast to be even worse over the weekend, so we needed to get out. We started at this very nice park right in the center of Watertown. Parking can be difficult in this area of Massachusetts, but there were plenty of free open spots at the park. I knew there was a short walking trail, and that the park connected to other walking trails, but I didn't really have a plan as to where we were going to go from here. After looping this park, we connected to the Charles River Reservation before heading over the Arsenal Street Bridge into Boston. On our way back, we visited Arsenal Yards, an outdoor shopping plaza located directly next to the park. Even with the dreary weather, it was a good adventure.

This is the area along side Charles River, with a main walking path (partly paved, partly stone dust), and some side trails as well. This was part of our adventure that started at Arsenal Park, and included the Arsenal Yards shopping plaza and a trip over the bridge into Boston. On our way back, the sun even came out for a few minutes.

This is an outdoor shopping area next to Arsenal Park. I got the impression that this was a "newish" plaza. There were some nice spots to take some fun pictures.
