MWB Trail

We had visited every town surrounding Wales in both Massachusetts and Connecticut, but not Wales. The only trails in the All-Trails app that I could find in town didn't allow dogs. So I had to use Google to find this one. There is no signage here. The "MWB Trail" name is what it is called on Google Maps. There's a 2.8 mile loop here and I intended on hiking the entire loop. There's a somewhat steep climb up to the summit where there is a great overlook area with a nice view of the town. The trail itself wasn't that great. It was very muddy in places, and not blazed. There are many intersecting trails as well. Even though there wasn't a route here in All-Trails, there is a map of the trails that I used. We progressed a ways past the overlook, but I started to hear gunshots that sounded pretty close. Hunting season is over, so I didn't really know why there were gunshots, so I actually turned around and took a shortcut trail that cut the loop short. We only wound up hiking about a mile and a half here. The view was nice, but the rest of it wasn't the greatest.
