I just don't want to give up on summer! We drove 3+ hours for another little taste of summer. It was 45 degrees, cloudy and raining in Connecticut when we left the house, but 73 degrees, warm and mostly sunny at this beach on the Jersey Shore. It's a pretty nice beach too. Dogs are allowed in the off-season, from September 16th to March 14th. Parking is free in the off-season as well. We parked at the main lot and walked about a mile and back in both directions, walking a bit over four miles total. I was surprised to see the palm trees. They appear to be part of Surfrider Beach Club. Do they plant new ones every year? That, along with the haze in the air, certainly added to the summer feel. It was wonderful to have another day like this, especially considering how miserable the weather was in Connecticut.
