This is a city park in the heart of Schenectady, named after the the famous park in mid-town Manhattan. This park sort of has the same feel to it, but on a much smaller scale. The highlight is the impressive rose garden. We were lucky enough to visit on a day where the roses were in full bloom. Besides the rose garden, the park features a pond, paved walking trails, picnic areas, sports fields, a swimming pool, a community garden and greenhouse, statues and monuments, a dog park, and even an outdoor event venue. When the dogs were posing for their photos in front of the pond, Lexi decided to jump into the pond, not realizing it was deep, and of-course Mandy saw that, and followed her in. They usually just like to wade through shallow water and lay down to cool off. Neither dog likes to swim where they can't touch the bottom, so they were both very surprised after they jumped. That is why the dogs are soaked in some of the pictures, as they wound up getting their whole bodies wet because they had to swim! I wasn't planning on letting them into this pond, but they certainly had other ideas! We walked about two miles total through this very nice park, on a hazy Sunday afternoon.
