This was a fun hike. There's a 1.2 mile loop trail with a spur that goes out to an observation platform. The trail starts in West Stockbridge, but the majority of the trail crosses over into Richmond. Either side of the loop is downhill, and the western end of the loop is steeper. We went down the east side. The spur trail that goes out to the observation platform is a bit dangerous toward the end. There's a rocky stair case curving up a hill with a pretty good drop to the right. I would suggest not slipping. There is a metal staircase that goes down to the observation platform. The platform gives a great view of waterfall, but the flow was pretty weak. It's hard to see in the pictures. There's a fence that protects from a deep drop, but it blocks the view when trying to get to the waterfall in the same picture with small dogs. We then had to proceed uphill to complete the loop and get back to the car. It was a challenging climb up, but we all survived! The pictures below are from the Richmond section. See the West Stockbridge page for pictures from the West Stockbridge section of the trail.
