This was a fun surprise! After driving around Downtown Portsmouth for about 15 minutes looking for a parking place, we finally found one that was near this place. It's an art gallery that displays the work of Kimberly Sarah Photography, and is dedicated to showing pets. It's also completely dog friendly. Leashed and well-behaved dogs and their humans are welcomed. The woman on staff was super friendly, and had some yummy treats for the dogs! There's more information at The Dog Art Gallery's website.

We walked around the touristy part of Portsmouth while my wife was visiting one of the shops. Finding a parking spot can be a real challenge on a weekend when the weather is nice. The town was quite busy when we visited. We tried to walk down to Prescott Park near Memorial Bridge, but dogs aren't allowed in the park.

This was the final stop on our three part tour of the New Hampshire shoreline. The entire island is a park area, except for a waste water treatment plant on the eastern end of the island. The main draw for people here is the large outdoor busy, that was very busy on this hot day. Dogs are obviously not allowed in the pool. They also aren't allowed on the playground, or the trail out to "Four Tree Island", but are allowed in the rest of the park. There is even an off-leash area where dogs can run around, and go in and out of the water on the shore. The Pierce Island Trail loops around the eastern end of the park. Despite signs that warn of rough terrain, it's an easy trail. We didn't encounter any real rough areas. Mandy and Lexi got to meet some dogs, and play in the water. It was a good way to end a long summer day of adventures!
