Ashuwillticook Rail Trail

This is another great multi-town bike trail, but don't ask me to pronounce the name of the trail. We started at the parking lot at the entrance to the Berkshire Mall, right on the border of Pittsfield and Lanesborough. We walked all the way up to the reservoir in Cheshire and back. It was just over seven miles total.

This was the last section of this bike trail that we had left to walk. I don't think this section was even built when we started this trail back in 2022. This is the section that runs through Pittsfield, from the south end of the trail at Merrill Road, to the spot where we left off back in 2022, near the Berkshire Mall. This section is a little over two miles long, and we walked it in both directions. The fall foliage wasn't as vibrant as the Cheshire sections we walked the previous week, but this was a nicer day. Overall, this is a really nice bike trail, and it only took us four years to complete it! Of course, there are plans in the work to extend the trail, so maybe we'll get to revisit this trail in the future.

Springside Park

We were going to walk through downtown Pittsfield, but after driving through it, I decided not to. We stopped at this park briefly so I could figure out what we were going to do instead. While we were here, we took a short walk down one of the trails and back, before heading to Williamstown.
