We were actually headed elsewhere, but Massachusetts traffic was bad, and the GPS re-routed us off the highway. We wound up driving by this state park, so we decided to go here instead. Some Massachusetts state parks charge an exorbitant fee to park for out-of-state visitors, but this one was free. There was a weird sign about "No Weekend Photography without a permit", but I think that has to do with commercial photography. The area around the old mill is definitely a place that is good for photography. There is an old mill, and a number of dams and waterfalls. We even found a nice spot that the dogs could cool off in the water. There are a number of trails that go through the woods. They are well maintained, but not that interesting. We wound up walking about 3.5 miles total. It got a sunnier as the day went on, so we were able to get some nice photos. Overall, this was a nice state park, and a very good place to take the dogs on an adventure.
