I randomly picked this park to visit on this day, not realizing that the park was hosting it's annual Earth Day festival. The festival includes live bands, foods, and many vendors. In addition to the festival, there is a walking trail that runs along side the Hudson here. The set up here is similar to the other waterfront parks in surrounding towns. The key feature at this park is the "Eye of Sauron" sculpture that looks out to the Hudson, with it's blue glass singular eye. I'm not sure it's really named that, but that is how it is described in some web articles. The piece of art was erected in 2015 by artist Peter Lundberg, and the statue has been a point of contention with some of the town's residents who think it is ugly. I think it kinda goes with the whole Earth Day vibe. The sun came out toward the end of our visit, and we were able to take some nice photos of the piece. Before leaving, Mandy and Lexi took a quick dip in the Hudson River to cool off. While I wasn't planning on visiting a festival, the event was nice and it made for an interesting walk.
