North Providence

Governor John Notte Memorial Park

Date visited: 7/26/2022

After a week of brutal heat and humidity, the weather finally broke, and we had a really nice late afternoon. I'm glad I found this great park so that I could enjoy the weather! There's a beach by the lake, playgrounds, athletic fields, and hiking trails here. The park is mainly in North Providence, but some of the trails cross the border into nearby Lincoln. There is a fee to use the beach, but since we weren't using it because the dogs are not allowed, we didn't have to pay. There are many great photo opportunities in the main park, and it was nice to just sit a bit and enjoy the weather. The pictures below are from the North Providence part of the park. Go to the Lincoln page for the rest of the pictures.

Captain Stephen Olney Memorial Park

This is a town park that features a half mile paved walking trail. We walked the length of the trail, and returned via a dirt trail that runs parallel to the paved trail. The trail is a popular dog walking destination.
