This is the welcome center on I-87 (New York Thruway), just south of Albany. We stopped here mainly to take pictures at the "I Love NY" sculpture. Unfortunately, the position of the sun in the sky made it very difficult, as the sun was directly behind the sign at the time. I did the best I could with the lighting I had to deal with.

This is a park with a mowed loop trail through a meadow that leads to a scenic overlook spot. The overlook features a view of the Hudson River, but it's mostly concealed by the brush. We also hiked a second trail that leads down a 300 foot hill to the river. There are signs indicating the former locations of a quarry and an icehouse, but I didn't notice any evidence of either. Mandy and Lexi cooled off in the water, before we headed back up the hill. This was a pretty decent two and a quarter mile hike on an perfect September afternoon.
