We were just passing through the center of Monson, and Mandy needed to get out of the car for a few minutes. Sure enough, there were some nice photo opportunities where we stopped. The pictures are in front of Memorial Town Hall, and The House Of Art which is just next door. We also went across the street to the clock and the gazebo.
Peaked Mountain - Miller Forest Tract

We've been to a few of these Trustees of Reservations spots, and they've all been pretty nice. This one is no different. This is a really well maintained and beautiful set of trails. The area around the lake is mostly a pine forest, so it looks nice any time of the year. Unfortuntely, it was very overcast the day we hiked these trails. It was still a pleasant hike over mostly easy terrain. The All-Trails curated route covered most of the blazed trails and is about 2 1/2 miles. We extended that a bit to almost 4 miles by hiking all of the other blazed trails here as well. This was a better than average walk in the woods, despite the gloomy day.
Twelve Mile Brook

This was a nice hike. The brook might be twelve miles, but this trail was only about one mile (two out and back). The trail is located mostly in Wilbraham, but ends in Monson at what looks like a Christmas Tree Farm.
