Here is another rail trail in Central Massachusetts. We started at the commuter lot on Main Street, and headed north past Fino Field. We crossed Dilla Street where the trail passes through Louisa Lake Park. Continuing north past the lake, the trail heads into Milford State Forest. We continued until the trail reached the intersection of I-495 and Route 85, where we turned around and headed back. We walked about five and a half miles total. The highlight of the trail was the section near the lake, and those photos are under Louisa Lake Park section. Also of note, is the section through the forest. There was one spot just off the trail where a little pond lies amongst an outcropping of rocks. It was pretty cool looking, and the photo I took of Mandy and Lexi in front of it doesn't do it justice. Also of note, after stopping for a short water and snack break, Lexi went nuts and pounced on Mandy right on the trail. I guess she was in a feisty mood!

This trail is "V" shaped, with the bottom of the "V" being our starting point in downtown Milford. Last time we headed northwest, this time we took the northeast route. This section passes through a mainly commercial and resedential area. There are a number of busy street crossings, and Massachusetts drivers don't always stop, so you have to be very careful! The trail passes under I-495 along a power line cut-out as it proceeds through a swampy area. The trail then heads into Holliston, where we continued for a short distance before turning around and heading back. We walked about 5.4 miles total on this day.
